Geoinformation Lab
Responsable: Prof. Dr. Alécio Perini Martins - alecioperini@ufg.br
Targets:
The Geoinformation Laboratory has the general objective of offering support in the area of Geotechnologies for the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses in Geography at Jataí Regional, as well as other courses in related areas, either in the form of technical support in the development of research, offering training and capacity building courses, and making available vector and matrix databases for the development of cartographic products.
These are specific objectives of the Geoinformation Laboratory: a) Provide technical support to researches developed at Jataí Regional that need/use Geoinformation tools; b) Keep updated digital database with statistical and spatial (vector and matrix) bases of the State of Goiás, especially of the southwest micro-region of Goiás and the municipality of Jataí; c) To promote the diffusion of knowledge in the area of Geotechnologies by means of courses, lectures and training workshops; d) To meet the demands for databases and mapping of projects developed in the Academic Unit of Geographic Studies and, when possible, in the other units of the Jataí Regional; e) To contribute with the scientific dissemination in the area of Geoinformation in the Jataí Regional.
